2009 Tim Kubicek Car Of The Year Award
Jan 5, 2010 - 11:53:46 AM

Article submitted by Detour Dave:

Happy New Year everyone! As we ring in 2010 and look forward the many great diecast releases that are sure to come our way over the next 12 months, it's time to reflect back on the past year and vote for the one model worthy of being rewarded with the 2009 Tim Kubicek Car of the Year Award.

As in past years, before we can vote, we each need to nominate what we feel were the top 5 models of 2009. The nominations round will run for 2 weeks, ending the weekend of 01/16 - 01/17. At that point, the nominations will be tallied and the final poll will be posted in which we will vote for one of the top 5 nominees, ultimately deciding the winner of the 2009 Tim Kubicek Car of the Year Award.

To submit your nominations and to follow the 2009 vote visit the DCP Car of the year thread located here.

CarNutty made a wish

For several years now, Paul (CarNutty) has been helping Bill and I at the GTO car show (first working the show, and then helping us set up and sell out of our trailer).

While at one of these shows, Paul spotted a beautiful Red Judge Convertible and has not stopped thinking about it since. Many times while in our store, he would pick up the GTO book that had a red (with red interior) Judge convertible on the cover, come over to us (while pointing at the Judge) and say “I want THIS in a diecast!” If you have been reading the board here, you probably noticed Paul’s many “subtle” hints to GMP that he wanted them to do a 1970 GTO Judge convertible in RED (with red interior)...

Collectors may be amazed to find out how far a Georgia Diecast manufacture will go to show there appreciation to a loyal customer.  Read the whole story IN THE FORUMS
