Performance Years Enterprises involvement with the National conventions of the GTO Association of America (GTOAA) and the Pontiac-Oakland Club International (POCI) may come as no surprise to collectors but the fact that it has been eight years since this series of Pontiac replicas began could be another matter.

One of the great joys I find whenever I receive a new die cast model is researching the history behind the real life size vehicle that it represents.  Maybe it is just a pet peeve but I feel this should be a mandatory requirement that is included on all models. Providing a potential collector with a small bit of history should be a no-brainer and one that is sadly lacking on most entry-level models today.

The Featured model this week at the Diecast Pub comes from Supercar Collectibles.  A 1934 custom Ford Pickup finished in Green with Yellow accents.   This tricked out little gem features removeable tonnue cover, 4 wheel disc brakes, custom tail lights, chrome wheels complete with knockoffs and even the door handles have been removed for that extra clean look.

Manufactured by Yat Ming and marketed under the Road Legends logo this beautiful 34 is part of the "Shyne Rodz" Collection.

Featuring a fully wired custom V8 engine which has been topped off with a chromed blower and custom air cleaner, this big horsepower V-8 really sets off this 34 hauler.  Interior features include, custom steering wheel, gauges and shifter.

What I found most striking about our featured model has to be the overall stance. Road Legends did a very nice job in capturing the raked appearance so often found on these early rods.

Available from Supercar Collectibles and other diecast dealers found here at the Diecast Pub.

Dealers or manufactures interested in  having a car featued on the Diecast Pub please contact Tim for further information.

1952 Hudson Hornet Convertible

Featuring 1948's innovative "step down" body design which lowered the center of gravity and gave superior handling, the 1952 Hudson Hornet Club Coupe was a serious performance car in its time. The famed "Twin H" engine with its twin carburetors and a single intake manifold was introduced as a factory-installed option in 1952, and costed just $85.60. The Hornet also offered the industry's biggest six-cylinder for 1952, the 308 cu. in. (505cc).

A dealer-installed high performance 7-X engine was also available in the Hornet for $385.00. Offering a bored .40 over engine, larger intake and exhaust valves, and three differentl camshaft options, the big six was able to generate over 200 horsepower. Additionally, many of these cars were fitted with "severe usage" or heavy-duty components. This Hudson parts package (# 30395) was designed for use in Police Crusiers and for high-altitude applications, but many were used for racing. These race Hudsons dominated the stock car circuit through 1954, winning 31 of 35 starts in 1953 alone. Unfortunately, by then Hudson as a marque had but three years left of existence.

Includes interchangeable convertible top and boot, and operating rear bumper mounted spare tire kit.

Available Early 2007
